A groundbreaking multimedia installation, presenting a highly innovative concept of Motion Theatre: film, audio, sensorial elements, and high-tech cinematic experience producing totally immersive environment for all audiences. The cinematic journey includes 3D video, 5.1 digital surround, a motion platform and HD technology.

 

5th motion  is een multimedia installatie over beweging en stilstand, contrast en verschillen, mildheid en scherpte.  De bezoeker wordt meegevoerd naar een vreemde, fantastisch en bizarre omgeving vol contrasten, kleurrijke computeranimaties en leuke verrassingen.

 

5th motion  biedt de unieke ervaring van een professioneel 5D Theater. Het combineert stoelbewegingen (vibratie, wiegen, kantelen, golvende beweging) en besturingstechnologie, met speciale effecten en top kwaliteit audio/video systemen, zodat de echte High Definition ervaring gebracht kan worden, het echte ‘WOW’ effect!

De installatie omvat een geavanceerde bewegingsplatform, Centraal Besturings Systeem, HD Video speler, stoeleffecten, zaaleffecten (zoals rook, sneeuw...), complete 5.1 audio surroundsysteem, 3D scherm, 3D brillen. De effecten worden bestuurd door een centraal synchronisering systeem en worden zo een geïntegreerd en gecoördineerd deel van de muziek en de video die geprojecteerd wordt.

 

5th motion  kan geïnstalleerd worden in elk theater met standaard ondergronden. De installatie heeft een capaciteit van 4 bezoekers per keer. De mensen die buiten wachten, kunnen de gezichten zien van degenen die nog binnen zitten, zodat ze nieuwsgieriger zullen worden en graag naar binnen zullen gaan. Deze installatie is een concept wat een breed scala aan mensen kan bereiken (inclusief kinderen vanaf 10 jaar). Een attractie die zeker niet gemist mag worden!

 

 

5th motion wordt gespeeld in een eigen portable ruimte met gedeeltelijke geluidsisolatie. De presentaties kunnen plaats vinden in theaters en op ‘onconventionele’ locaties (winkelcentra, bioscopen, musea, openbare bibliotheken o.a.). Het totale oppervlak van de installatie is ca. 4 x 4 x 2,5 mts (LxBxH). De activiteit is een doorlopende voorstelling van 6 minuten, vanaf s’ middags tot ’s avonds laat (afhankelijk van de locatie) en wordt bediend door onze eigen technicus.

Marcel Wierckx: Cassiopeia (2012)

The audiovisual work Cassiopeia was inspired by the post-Renaissance paintings in the Mannerist style, in particular the work of the Utrecht artist Joachim Wtewael. He took figures from classical mythology and painted them with a virtuosic manipulation of perspective and an intricate artificiality that contradicted the harmonious and rational ideals of the Renaissance. Details of his stylistic elements, such as an over-exaggerated gracefulness of the female form, extreme contrasts between acidic warm and cool colours, a disunification of time and space and an obscurely symbolic iconography, are emulated in my video images. In Greek mythology, Cassiopeia was the beautiful yet arrogant and vain queen of Æthiopia, wife of Cepheus and mother of Andromeda. In her arrogance she boasted that she and her daughter were more beautiful than the daughters of the sea god Nereus, and for this she was punished by Poseidon, the ruling god of the sea. To save her country from destruction, Cassiopeia sacrificed her daughter Andromeda by chaining her to a rock, but she was saved at the last minute by Perseus. As ultimate punishment, Poseidon chained Cassiopeia to a chair and placed her in the heavens, where she hangs upside-down for half the year.
